My display on my N95 has disapeared, the screen backlight still lights up but the screen stays black. The phone still works fine and if i plug the AV cable in to the tv everything is still on the phone working ok.

Any easy fix? or is it back to vodafone to be repaired/replaced? Its 10 months old.

Hi,

I'm sorry you're screen has failed you, I know we can help you with this. We can get it sent off for repair for you in store or we can send a repair envelope pack out for you to send it back to us.

I can organise this for you if you e-mailed me using our Vodafone online contact us form here (https://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_Help_ContactUs&pageID=PCU_0002). If you include the code FIT135 somewhere in the body of your e-mail, this will come to me here in the forum team and I can help.

I'll need you to fill in all of the boxes with your account information for me. This is for security. Also include the make, model and IMEI of the phone and the address to send the repair pack out to you. Alternatively you could just nip into your nearest Vodafone store who can send it off for you in there with the option of a loan phone in the meantime. There may be a charge for a loan phone if you choose to take one.

Hope we can get this fixed for you very soon.

Sent it back to Voda today, they said its about a 5 day turn around, will be interested to see if they say it is my fault as im a builder and cosmetically the phone is a total mess!!

Well i got it back today unrepaired as they say it is water damaged, even though to the best of my knowledge it has never got even the tiniest bit wet!

I got sent a tiny picture supposedly showing the damage to the phonebut it is so blurry and poorly printed you cant see anything, and it is supposed to be that badly damaged it is uneconomical to repair! Which is a bit surprising when the only problem is the screen dont light up, the rest of the phone works fine.

Thanks Vodafone!

Hey fella, I had the exact same problem with my N95...the screen went black but the phone still functioned!! I took it to my local nokia service center but they wouldnt repair it coz iv "invalidated" my warrenty by flashing the firmware..opss!! Daft they wouldnt fix it even tho it was a hardware fault but sod it i took to it myself...

bought a new LCD from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Genuine-Nokia-N95-Lcd-Screen-free-T6_W0QQitemZ120184681853QQihZ002QQcategoryZ50332QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

fitted it and hey presto, working phone!! Little expence to get a £300+ phone working again...Turns out the cable to the LCD had come loose so no output on screen!

if its the slider that has water damage u can also replace that from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-NOKIA-N95-SILVER-PLUM-SLIDING-MECHANISM-SLIDER_W0QQitemZ270184703262QQihZ017QQcategoryZ350 05QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Easy enough to fit..trust me :bandit:

Hope this helps fella!

Hi lina.

Normally, if your handset is under warranty, then you can send your phone off for repair. As I work for Vodafone UK I can't really comment on what your phone provider might be able to do, but from a technology point of view, I would suspect you could get it fixed! :)
