I have an original N95 on the 3 network with v12 firmware.

Initially I used 2 get the random reboots but now my phone just seems to be turning off itself and not restarting. It's only when I take the phone out of my pocket to make a call that I realise that the phone isn't on!

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing it to do this?

un brand it if you can, that MAY cure it maybe?

Check you don't have loose battery connection. A few reported loose contacts. Does it turn off if you don't move/shake the phone?

What size memory card do you have? I had a restarting issue when I first started using a 6Gb.

I have a 2GB Kingston, I must admit thou I have installed quite a few applications on there - Fifa 07, Conversation Beta, Download! Beta, Truphone, MSN Messenger, Device Status, WidSets, Google Maps, DivX Player, Search v4

It may be worth moving your apps to the memory on the phone, to see if that makes a difference. Have you ever had the phone shut down when you try to do anything in particular in addition to its switching off in your pocket?

Have you tried a hard reset with *#7370# ? Your file system proabably has some corrupt data somewhere. Only problem is you need the original install files to get back all your apps/games.

Hard reset formats everything so make sure you backup contacts, text messages, photos that are stored on your phone etc.

Clear your phone of all those apps, you REALLY need to have them on your phone memory. That should sort it out.
