Have '3' released a new version of SlingPlayer for the XSeries N73 yet?

I have v1.12 installed which only plays TV in portrait mode.

A friend has a later (generic) version of the Symbian S60 SlingPlayer Mobile downloaded from the Sling website. This version allows the TV display to be turned into landscape mode (more useful).

However, I am not sure whether that version would work with XSeries Gold because it isn't specific to the '3' network.

Thanks

No new version of 3 modified player yet.

The 3 version will come out of your 80 hours allowance if your on Gold.

Slings own version is far superior, but if you watch using that version it will come straight out of your data allowance. (unless your in wifi range of course) :squareeye

That's what I feared. Shame '3' haven't kept up to date with latest version.

I wonder how far my 1GB allowance would go viewing streaming Sling TV??

I've mentioned this loads now on this forum and Sling's, surely it can't be that difficult to sort an update incorperating the full screen option ?

I've even emailed top bods of Sling but never get any answer.

It really would make the whole experience much nicer...

I've installed the generic player on my N95 and its much superior to the three version as it allows full screen. I've spoken to three technical who say that there is an update planned, but without a date planned easily turns into never. They did confirm that the generic version would use my data allowance, which seems a bit unfair considering it is a paid upgrade to their free basic software and performs exactly the same function. They did direct me to slingmedia support, even gave me a number to call and say I was a three customer, if you need support from sling never say you have the three version as they wont support it at all.
