SonyEricsson K8650 - Can't send text messages

Hello, everyone. Just wanted to share an odd problem I had and ask if anyone else had the same thing happen to them.

I've ordered a Flext plan with T-Mobile and got a new Sony Ericsson K850i with it.

It arrived the next day, and looks ace.
Odd thing is, I wanted to send messages and I get the option to send picture messages, emails and voice messages, but no texts.
This happened to me with m K800i on Vodafone. I called them, they sent a SIM update thing and problem solved.

So I called T-Mobile in the hopes it would be as simple for me. No joy, they said it was a fault with the firmware come from SE and I would have to get my phone exchanged.
So the following day (pretty efficient, I must say!) a courier arrives with a new phone in exchange for the "damaged" one. Guess what? SAME problem with the new one!

So I'm cancelling my contract and, I think, sticking to Vodafone. Shame, because the Flext plan with W&W was exactly what I wanted. I'm just not sure I can trust T-Mobile.

Has anything like this ever happened to you?

That's a bit bizarre, sounds like your phone might not be configured with the correct settings. Can you try going to http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/phone-support/ and using the form at the bottom to send the correct settings to your phone? It probably won't work but it's worth a try :)

It's VERY bizarre. I even checked the manual to make sure it wasn't me being phenomenally daft and not being ablw to work out how to send a text message!

Checked that URL, it'll give me the option to set up email, picture messaging and all that but not text messaging. So no joy.

I think I'm sticking to Vodafone ;)

ok this is a while after you had your problems, but i am having the same issue, how did you solve it on vfodaphone, give details please thanks
