Just looking for some other advice, views on this please.

I've had my nokia n95 8gb for just over a week now and already i've noticed the keys on the main part of the slider (the silver ones) are actually changing colour and going slightly rusty orange looking - this after only 1 week?

has anyone else had this?

Also - can anyone suggest the best settings for the camera, i've taken quite a few shots and on the phones screen the shots look great but when i send them to my computer and look in detail, they are really quite blurry

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

I have had mine for a few days only but will keep an eye on the keys to see if it happens to me. Do you carry it in a tightish pocket? perhaps thats rubbing the coating off the keys? I tend to put mine in a loose jacket pocket in case the slider moves about...

On that note - when your phone is in the "closed" position do you find there is a slight amount of play in the screen? (i.e. back and forward from landscape and portrait mode a mm or so) - no big deal but I hope it does not get "looser" in time.

About the photos - I have taken several and shall transfer them shortly - I have made no adjustments, its just the settings it came with - will let you know if they look OK.

I have the original N95 and I do remember hearing about the paint rubbing off in some cases, corners of the phone became shiny. I have never had such a thing happen to mine however, although I have had numerous N95's with a wobbley slider, I kept returning it until I got a solid one - it makes the phone feel very cheap when pressing the keys, not what you would expect having spent all that money on it or taken out an 18 month contract!!!

I am getting my phone exchanged tomorrow and just hope I get a solid one!

I had the slider wobble with the original N95 too. The movement in the N95 8gb is different tho (and far less noticable) its just a little bit of play in the slider but perpendicualr to the slider wobble on the original N95!! i.e. no up and down vertically but up and down in the slider open directions (if you see what I mean!). Read other accounts of it so it seems also to be quite common *Sigh*

Yes I wouldn't worry too much if it is a common thing, all of my N95's have had a tiny bit of play up and down with the slider closed, opposite to the black one by the sounds.

On a lighter note my new N95 is perfect!!!
The best one so far, and it is a refurb but you can't tell. Did have a bit of a panic though when the clock kept asking to be set every time I turned it on, was ok once I removed the sim and battery and put back on. It was really cold when the courier gave it to me as it had been in the back of the van for ages, so I guess very low temps can play with the phone a bit.

can i just ask does the N95 have an annoying flashing LED on the top, my N80 does and just annoys me when im trying to fall asleep, i dont see the point of it, it flashes to remind u the phones on when the screen is off

LOL! he changes phones more than I change my y-fronts.

NOt a single restart for me yet on the 8gb - but also have looseness on the slider a wee bit.

Very refreshing not to have a phone rebooting on me 5 times a day at least.
