Hi,

I'm on three looking to upgrade from a non-three smartphone I've been using - does anyone know what is usually lost when Three apply their customisations?

Particularly - can anyone confirm whether they disable using the phone(s that support it) as a modem via bluetooth?

My current phone (unbranded SE P990, with a three SIM) does this, but I'm kind of expecting to lose this feature if I go for a three-branded handset? ...but otoh, will gain streaming services/skype, and possibility of msn/sling in future (it's the LG U990 Viewty I'm thinking of getting - think there are some other handset-specific features three disable like a built-in YouTube browser possibly?)

Can anyone point to some more info on the differences (even if only what's generally/usually the case on 3?), and/or make a recommendation whether to go branded/unbranded?

Cheers,
Dan
