the handset is rumoured to cost £265 or there abouts, but you have to add the price of the contract on top. I very much doubt it will be payg on any network

I know its going to cost 269 n then minimum contract of 18 mnths lowest tariff 35 for daft amount of mins n txts. Didn't know whether it would be on pay n go yet. USA haveit on pay n go I got mine imported since I dont want to go with o2. Thought they might release it on pay n go they prolly willing few months time.

If you have an imported handset it maybe sim free so you can use any network, but some of the services on the phone may not work

i was hearing that it's battery & sim card are 'built' into the phone....? that's one way of going about it i suppose! i mean, if you're used to ipods this will be fine, & it being locked to o2? well i'm not one to go modding or unlocking for the hell of it, so if o2 let customers get at all it's features (network dependent,& just like all new phones) then not much to worry about there. of course, price & contract are minus points but that can be worked out later. no 3g yet, best to wait & see what's good & bad about it then, if later models are supposed to have this.

nice bit of kit, overpriced, missing some features... but it's a phone with good storage... yeah i still prefer cybershot phones. well balanced. if it's just audio then i'd choose a better player, like the cowons.

if o2 now offer web bolt ons for modern payg phones then why not the iphone?

rumours are that the i-phone will be available in france totally unlocked, even if it is, major bad points, 2mp cam no flash not even a led one, this phone is for the geeks and posers of this world really

Called in at Mac Central over the weekend to have a poke and a scoff but left very impressed. Edge is much, much faster than I expected but maybe they installed boosters in Regent Street - it was about the same speed as my 3G phone, maybe even (dare I say it) a bit faster. Can that be right. Safari rocks by the way - it is amazing using the internet on this thing. I didnt buy nor did I intend to but am now officially thinking about it.

People who measure their cameras purley in MP's have some Freudian issue going on - the camera is fine and the output is as good as my N73 which knocks spots off most. I dont care how many MP's there are on the tin - its the end product that matters, or am i missing something. Cant compare it to the camera on an N95 though. The camera is also very simple to use etc etc as is the whole phone once you get the hang of it (about 10 minutes). No flash might be a bummer for some if you are into that sort of thing.

You can even make calls from the demo phones at MC which is pretty confident marketing (and security).

It is not often that a phone can bring a smile to my face but this thing does just that and it seemed to have the same effect on everyone around me. How cool is that.
