Hi Guys,

I've had my N95 4 months now... great mobile... anyway problem is that over the weekend, i managed to drop it in a sink full of water... it wont switch on at all... i have tried to dry it and still will not switch on.... i've got insurance on it which covers water damage, my question is, is there anyway i can bring my mobile back to life? i've got around 200 contacts saved on my phone memory i desparately need them back... also i had loads of calendar enteries...

i hope someone can help me.....please

thanks in advance

nazim

Might be worth trying it with abother battery, but to be honest, I'd say you're screwed, if it was off when it hit the water you'd have had a chance.

out of interest.. what did you tell your insurance company.. that you simply just dropped it in a tub of water? .. didn't they fight against it saying that you were careless and could have "avoided" the incident?

Try letting it dry again for a few days. It most likely won't power up because there is a short on the board because of the water. That can take a while to evaporate. Open up the phone completely and leave the PCB board in a dust free area for a few days. Then try turning it on, it should be able to start up, I doubt all the features will be working properly but you may get a chance to back up all your data to your PC. Goodluck m8 and keep us posted.

We sell insurance for all mobiles and our cover does include water damage. Whats more, we offer a data backup service for free also.

With regards to backup, I suggest you register on Bluebook on O2's website, as it lets you back up your contacts for free (if you are on a pay monthly tariff) online, and it also keeps a record of every single SMS you send and receive.
