Hi

I'm new to 3Uk - less than a week, I've gone for a N95 with x-series gold tariff (free slingbox :D )

I'm loving the phone and the tarif, but I'm a bit concerned about what is free data wise.

I noticed my spend under "MY 3" is saying £1.25, I know its not much, but I thought my data charges were covered. I've only used the apps that were preinstalled on the phone, except google maps which i downloaded through three, and nokia podcasting software from nokia site.

Would any of these two apps incur cost for me for data.

Many Thanks

Drew

No all mobile data is meant to included (I can confirm google maps is included). If you have a £ 1.25 charge are you sure you have not downloaded any chargable content from 3's portal, called any non geographic/premium rate numbers or used any sms shortcodes. Also did you wait for x-series to be activated (by checking my account details in my3) prior to using any data applications?

Ps it has been known for my3 to screw up and show charges that will not be raised when you receive your paper bill.

I concur with the good doctor. Even if you go over the limit on unlimited X-Series(!) they warn you and I've never been charged extra or heard of anyone else being charged extra.

Having said that, earlier this year many of us on these forums noticed our my3 page on Planet 3 saying we owed huge amounts. It was all resolved and no one got charged what was listed.

Does anyone know if sending emails using Yahoo Go is chargable?

This discussion was had shortly after X-Series launched on the X-Series blog. Basically all data is free. The only thing you would get charged for would be sending email via the 3mail service, which is separate and remains chargeable, so is best avoided!

I don't believe yahoo mails are chargeable either, these should also be covered by data costs. However, 3mail is not included if you use that. Have you phoned any non-geographical numbers (0800, 0845, 0870 etc)? If you have, this would explain it as they aren't included in your minutes allowance. Aside from that, my3 isn't always 100% accurate with the extra costs, so it may just be an error that will correct itself when your bill is produced.

Sending email using smtp client is chargeable on gold tariff on X-Series phones, this is confirmed by Three. The waved the charges for the first month for me because nothing says on the web site. But they say in future it will be charged. What a surprise. Having unlimited usage and charge for sending emails!!!!
