View Full Version : SDF error message
When I try to view 3's free content pages on payg, I quite often get a error message screen saying oops-sdf error.
3 have resent the network setting and I have cleared the privacy data as they said, all to no avail.
I have also reset the phone using *#7370# which result in me spending hours downloading the X-series apps.
Has any one come across this and found the answer to the problem?
3 technical support rang me back today (26-10-07) and after approx 2 hrs of talking to him with several phone calls and numerous tests, it was decided that the phone was faulty.
He then proceeded to book the phone in for repair, which to me was unacceptable as the phone is only a couple of weeks old, and which turns out to have been faulty since I bought it.
Its taken almost that time to the problem escalated to the tech guys.
He stated that his computer and bosses would not authorise the replacement of the phone with a new one.
He has logged it on the system that the phone is faulty and agreed with me in what I was saying why should have to accept a repair on a brand new phone that was faulty from new, but could not help in getting a new replacement.
To give credit to the tech guy, he was very helpful in what he did and could do which from my previous experiences with 3 made a refreshing change.
When I bought the phone from my local 3 store they said if I had any problems with the phone come back to them and they would see to any problems.
What I found when I called them within the first couple of days saying I had a problem with the phone, was that they did not want to know and just said I had to call 3 c/s. I point out to them this was the opposite to what they said when I bought the phone they still stated any help I needed to call c/s.
It now looks like it is round 2 at the 3 shop where I bought the phone from to get a new replacement phone.

I get this sometimes as well, i dont think its a phone issue as it happens on all 4 of my 3 network phones. Usually i disconnect and re connect and the page loads.
Hope this helps and good luck with the 3stores...some of the staff in there are damn right unhelpful.
I was beginning to think it was a network problem, as some times by selecting the page again it would load.
It then got to the point I was getting the SDF error quite often, also no gateway found and connection timed out within seconds of the page loading or when trying to load a page.
I then dug out my old 6680 and every page loaded first time and every time without a problem using the same sim.
Just got a replacement 6120 and been playing with it a bit, I do get the odd timed out message, but no ware near as bad as on the old phone.
I have also got apps, like some games that were not installed on my other phone.
I now on phone number 3 as the second one started doing the same and I found it was impossible to view my credit as the page would not load.
I tried a hard reset and that was a big mistake as doing a hard reset wipes off some of 3's applications. As I did a back up when I got this phone I tried a restore, only to find the restore / back up does not do the complete phone and the applications that come with the phone.
Hopefully its 3rd time lucky and so far this one appears to be working.

Sounds like you've been pretty unlucky. Had no such problems with mine.
Looks like its third time lucky, the new one's working fine, the second phone also had a creaky number 5 key.

dont ever do a hard reset! i found that when i put planet 3 back as a shortcut after changing it for a while the link went dead and i even had to use my3 as a shortcut and even make my own link manually. i did a soft reset(nothing was wiped, just rest the settings) and suddenly there is no more broken link with planet 3 as a shortcut and it works do a settings reset by typing in *#7780# and use the 12345 as the passcode, nothing will get wiped ull just need to personalise again
