View Full Version : Email help - works with wifi but not with T-mobile internet???

Hi Anyone had this problem or know how to get round it?
I've got my Email up and running now - but it only works when connecting via a wifi network - If I try to connect using the t-mobile internet - which works fine for browsing then a connection is never achieved?

I can't send email on my Orange email account via wifi. I can receive and delete etc emails in my Inbox, but if I reply to one using the phone's email client they always send via 3G.
Who is your email account with?

my email account is with demon - email sends and receives perfectly via any wifi connection but not vi the t-mobile connection???

Is demon your ISP?
If so then that's why, most ISP email systems only accept mail from clients within the ISP's network.
You need either an email service tied to your mobile provider or a service not tied to either, such as Yahoo mail.

Have you got SMTP authorisation set up? This is needed for using a different ISP (In this case T-Mobile)
Try setting SMTP Authorisation to ON and put your usual log in details as your username and password

Hi - Many thanks for your replies - Apologies for my ignorance but is SMTP Authorisation something I can set on the Phone? I've spent about half an hour looking and can't find this option anywhere?

When you use email via two different routes you must use each ones unique smtp server settings. You can use your email account providers pop server for both but not the smtp.
