US : Continuous Computing announced the availability of its Trillium Femtocell protocol software solution for telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) to rapidly develop femtocell equipment. Continuous Computing also announced that the company is a full member of The Femto Forum, an independent organization committed to supporting and increasing the standardization and adoption of femtocell technology.
Femtocells, or access point base stations, are cellular access points that connect to a mobile operator's network using residential digital subscriber line (DSL) or cable modem broadband connections in order to improve the consumer experience and, in turn, generate increased revenue for carriers and/or operators.
