No, 8GB. It should be coming out by the end of this month from what I've heard. I don't see why it shouldn't work with the N95?

I'd give it very good odds of working, yes - the N95 supports microSDHC and FAT32, and the upcoming N95 8GB has 8GB built in, suggesting that Symbian OS doesn't have any unexpected problems with addressing 8GB of memory.

I'm sure I've seen posts in this forum saying that the n95 can read 6gb cards, but uses so much Ram that the phone can freeze.

I don't quite understand how that would work. RAM is designed just for that, random access memory, I don't think the phone would continually try to read as much as possible from the memory card unnecessarily so that it clogs up the ram. Only applications and things that you are actually doing on your phone should do this, I don't see how the capacity of the memory card can have an adverse affect as you say?

The only way th I can imagine a large memory card being a contributing factor to freezes would simply be that you could have a very large number of files on the card, which the system could take a long time to enumerate; I've had that problem on Windows Mobile. That's hardly the card's fault though.

I have had issues with mine, but did find a blog site (they posted about it on this forum) where they recommended having no more than 130 files in a folder. The card works fine, but numbers of files does seem to be an issue. Have seen mention of file names being a contributing factor also, in terms of their length, so keep the file names short and put them into folders and it should be fine.

That's excellent advice! I remember hearing you should limit the file names to 32 characters including the extension of the file. The older motorola's had trouble even recoginsing files that had names with a greater character length. I think the engineers must have limited it for a reason?
As you said the amount of files in a folder is something to keep an eye on as well.
Really good advice mate! :)
