updated my n95 today to this firmware version 12.0.013. naturally i performed a 100% full back-up before hand as to retain my settings/contact etc

the phone seems to be working fine, apart from taking a little longer to load up. however, theres a major issue when trying to connect to any data service, i.e. internet, MMS

im with Orange UK, and as i say, i had all my wap/internet settings backed up and transfered them back onto the phone after the firmware update. they appear as access points to be connected to, but when i try to connect the phone says 'connection not available'. Orange seem clueless

has anyone else had these issues? any advice would be greatly appreciated! cheers,

Same thing happened to me over the weekend.

I'm on o2 so it might be slightly different, but try the "Settings Wizard" in "Tools" to get the operator settings for MMS and Internet.

It should tell you that the settings already exist, but just continue and it should sort the problem.

I had the same issue with the previous orange firmware.

You need to speak to someone in the faults department at orange as the normal CS people are mostly clueless.

They will then send you the settings via sms and hey presto it will work again.

(worked for me anyway):D

hey,
yeah went down both those roots to no avail. actually stumbled accross a solution. it seems to be an issue with restoring settings from a backup. if i reset the phone by re-installing the firware, the phone picks up the settings from the SIM and everything works fine.. clearly a compatability issue between firmware versions.

now ive got everything working ive got a new problem! the firmware has clearly tryed up update the data connection speed, and trys to access 3.5G connection speeds, where the orange network struggles with normal 3G at the best of times! so i get a really jekyll and hyde performance from GPRS Wap surfing.

mah, an issue i can deal with considering a had a web-less n95 24 hrs ago!!
