Hi, just a quick question concerning vidios for the N95.

Last night my son downloaded an MP4 film from Limewire and I copied it onto my phones memory card. When played it playes great, picture quality is fantastic and the sound is good, the only problem is that the sound is out of sinc to the picture by a couple of seconds. yet it plays ok on the computer.

Is this a typical problem or have I done something wrong in loading it onto the phone. Should it be in a different format or did I do wrong by putting it directly onto the card. I know on my old Sony ericsson I had similar problems with 3gp files.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

How many times have you tried playing it? I find that sometimes, the video playback can pause every once in a while on one occassion, and then five minutes later, the problem has gone. How big is the file?

I have realy only played the first 5-10 mins a couple of times. The file is accually 30MB on the memory card. Would changing it to a different format reduce the size or improve the quality.

You could reduce the size of the file and keep it as MP4, but it depends on the current file specs.
The N95 is far more convenient than other phones I have used, since 3gp is as a rule rubbish quality, and MP4 videos usually need to be dropped down to resolutions around the 176 x 144 mark. Thanks to the N95s video capabilities, iPod and PSP videos can be placed and watched on the phone without problems.
I don't think the file size is an issue in this case - I have watched vids on the N95 at 60-70 mb, and have checked briefly a file of around 500mb, and have not noticed sync issues to that level (admittedly the 500mb file was a dubbed film anyway, whilst the worst I have seen was a movie trailer which started fine, but just switched to being about 10 seconds out).
Perhaps your PC software is adjusting the sound/picture sync automatically?
If you haven't tried it already, restart the phone to clear it out, then leave it to settle down for ten minutes, then give it a whirl.
