I have a problem with sending and receiving MMS.

I;ve a Motorola V3x on the Direct Text 1400 price plan. Have had it around a year with no problems sending or getting picture messages.

But the other day I went to send a message and I'd click 'Send' and the phone would just say 'Sending in progress', and the progress bar just stayed at 0% and continued like that for ages and this is still the problem I've got.

I;ve taken the battery and sim card out and in and switched the phone on and off lots of time but nothing is happening.

I called up 3 and they ruled out all the usual problems, coverage, size of message, amount of memory.

My Server Info had always been at '3MMS' from the start and the advisor asked me to change it to '3MMS1', but this has made no difference.

The advisor has told me to take the phone to a repair centre, to establish whether it is a handset problem and then if it not to contact them to ask about the sim.

I am not sure what this means, would I get a replacement sim card with the same number or what?

Im taking the idea of having to get the handset looked at with a pinch of salt and the advisor might have been fobbing me off.

Oh, the error message I get is 'Message Could Not Be Sent'.

Does anyone know of any simpler, alternative remedies to this problem?
In respect of recieving of messages, sometimes I get them straight away, other times I have to download them and it takes ages, and all I get is 'message could not be downloaded, try again?' Which I do and then the same thing happens.

Does anyone know what causes this difference between the picture instantly and how other times it is this weird download system?

If you can please me assist me, I would be over the moon. Ta much.:tired:

Hi there
I too have been having issues, It is taking a huge amount of time for me to receive MMS messages that have been sent to me, I am still awaiting a couple that I have been told have been sent to me. I rang 3 technical services and they say that there has been an issue with the system and they were investigating. I did not ask too many technical questions through fear of throwing him a curve ball!!!!
Not sure if that helps

Thanks for the posts folks. Whether it has been something that 3 have sorted out or by me fiddling about with the phone, it seems to be working again... I tried sending messages by going into the sending options and adjusting the 'Priority' setting to 'Urgent'. Again could be a concidence, but happy days! Good luck to you all and don't take any guff from CS. :p
