Hi

Just got a new N95 with orange but wanted to unlock the phone.

I purchased an Orange Pay as you go sim registered it, put £20.00 credit on the sim and then phoned them the day later. Orange are now saying that you have to have to have the sim registered to the phone for at least 3 months before they will release the unlock code!!!!

Is their any other way you can unlock the phone?

Any help would be appreciated

Neil

You can try these guys who are OK
http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=63519&highlight=eastgate+unlocking

But it will cost more than £20

You can upgrade the firmware to the latest generic firmware without unlocking the phone - this would allow you to use VOIP and all the other goodies that upgrading the firmware provides and gets rid of all the junk that Orange pre-installs. You will however still have to use an Orange sim and call plan.

If you want to use another service providers sim card then you'll definetly need to unlock

There's loads of info on this forum and others on upgrading firmware - I did mine in 10 minutes nad have never looked back (and I'm with Orange too).
