Bit of a random question (forums been quiet this weekend...) but I was thinking abou the next firmware update and it turned into a question; What do you want to see on it?

List what you want, and we'll see who gets closest when it (eventually) turns up!

doubt this will happen or if its even possible with a firmware update...but i wish more then anything that the n95 had a better mic when recording a video in a night club! the sound is unbelievably poor and so distorted that its hard to even tell what song it is! i had a nokia n70 and although the video quality wasnt anywhere as good as n95, the sound was amazing! no matter how loud it was, it seemed to automatically turn it to a brilliant quality level!

so fingers crossed theres some sort of improvement!!

I've not actually used V12 due to it, so - for the 'keypress bug' to be fixed!

Some more free RAM on boot would be nice, since I believe they accomplished that on another phone? I could be wrong about that.

I very much doubt it can be fixed through software, but if there was some way to remove the hiss from the audio that would be much appreciated.

An option for an 'always on top' notification about new messages, which would also tell you the sender. Especially in a program like Web that doesn't have a normal title bar, it can be easy to miss a new message. For that matter - the option to repeat the audio/vibration every x minutes if you've not dismissed the notification. However, that would be a change to S60, not a firmware issue.. so never mind that.

I know the hiss on the audio was fixed with a firmware update on the SE w810i. I'd also like this to be repaired along with the keypress bug. Some more free RAM would definitely be nice.

But I'd like to see a torch implemented like on the SE phones. :D
Lol, you've probably realised from this post that I just switched from SE ;)

This may not be through f/w, however, from selecting an address in the Nokia Search application to then immediateley "navigate to" without having to flick between applications copying the text.

Id like to have the option to list contacts by "Company Name" :glasses: Currently when browsing your contacts list it only allows you to sort by 1st or 2nd name.

Definitely the removal of the keypress bug, more free ram if possible... and also upon receiving a message instead of seeing "1 new message", I'd like it to show who it is from.

Kepress bug is a given. It's gone in the APAC firmware so it'll be gone in the next one. I know there is WiFi improvements and Ngage preinstalled so I won't 'guess at them'. I'm like to see better RAM management for a starter. It's not possible to increase the RAM, but if it's managemd better it could make a difference. I like what Evil Homer says, I always want to see who that text is from. I want the search feature of the new Nseries (and recently added to the N76 on the firmware update) implememented as I think it's awesome. I would like to see the E-series front screen plug-ins too.

How about a low battery warning that does not turn on every light on the phone ensuring minimum post warning life.

an option to hang up on closing the slider would be awesome, can't understand why you can answer a call by opening it but not end it by closing it!

Yeah forgot about that one. That would definitely be cool. Even as an option, for the people who prefer the end the call with the buttons.

The multimedia menu I'm not sure about. when I was in London I asked an engineer about whether the new menu will be on firmware upgrades and he said no, it's new models only.

I actually hope it is on the new firmware.

The Guru has said it has? That's weird, I was with Ricky when the guy said it wouldn't! Things may have changed, and Ricky is normally right! I change my view to 'Yes, it will be included.

Looking forward to having another play on the new menu. I found it a little dull last time, and was hoping for it to be spiced up a touch. I'll know next week if it's going to be a worthwhile change or not. And I'll let you know!

Picture quality menu settings for camera = less compression, i.e fine, high and normal this way were given the choice if we take high quality images about file size
