Hello All

Long story short, decided a while ago to move from to another network and , got my PAC code but due to other circumstances , i let this run out
Now i have decided to go from Pay as you go to contract , contacted Vodafone for my PAC number which was given to me without question

My question is:

Other companies offer better deals for new customers than for existing customers and seem to work harder to get these new customers

But

I have noticed the youselves at Vodafone and mobile phone companies offer new customers, set monthly deals, and will not deviate from them and would rather loose a new customer , but when an existing customer is nearing the end of there contract or wants to cancel ,then after alot of messing about and threats to cancel they are offered the same deal as a new customer but at a lower monthly rate , same mins , same texts , lower monthly cost.

Now I understand wanting to keep customers , but why not lower the price on pay monthly contracts and get more new customers.

It cannot be loyalty as these customers have had to threaten to cancel before they are listened too , and these's companies dont call the customer and offer a lower rate for being a loyal customer

Now for me the only choice I have is to pay more and receive less and be penalised because I am a new customer ?, not a very good incentive .

Finally after many many e-mails to customer care , they have given me the a confused answer :

From a customer care agent: ( part of the e-mail )
You might be surprised at the packages and services we now offer which are much more better than what we offer to our existing customers.

I am really surprised as I know from reading on these forums thats is a Lie oh sorry Misinformed information
.................................................. .......
From another customer care agent: (Part of the e-mail )
Please accept my sincere apologises regarding this matter. You are our valued customer and we do not want to loose you

.................................................. .......
I must be a reallly valued customer if they dont want to loose me , but dont offer me anything to stay

But after all the e-mails and no body really answering my question I received a Phone call from customer care agent Aarron who informed me

When a customer wants to move from Pay as you go to a monthly contract it does not matter how long they have been customers and how much they spend per month , they will be treated as a new customer and will not be treated as a existing customer

Finally the answer , not the one I hoped for but the one I expected

What I did notice throught the e-mails what Vodafone talk alot about loyalty and not wanting to loose customers but offer nothing in return but expect customers to be loyal and to pay more for pay as you go phones( of which i wanted to 2 for the family )

I do not expect to be offered a low deal but yes i did expect something, but with all the dealings I have either by e-mail or by phone I have not been offered anything at all

So as I am now classed as a new customer my loyaly shall be the network that has the best all around deal for my money
