Is it possible to change the sound of an incomming massage (SMS) and if so.......can someone tel me how?

Is there any way in which I can turn down the volume only on the incoming message alert - the tone I selected is ok just bloody too loud!!!

Nope, the in-use Profile ringtone volume setting controls the incoming message alert volume. You could try a custom profile, but you'll hit the same issue.

You could use and audio editing program to lower the sound of the tone itself!

I just got used to having a loud message tone, seems a lot of people still get a giggle out of 'Worms' these days :D

If you do decide to do this. Use audacity, it is a very powerful and suprisingly free piece of software. You'll see the gain level you can adjust on the far left. Lower it until it suits you, then feel free to play with the tempo, speed, crossfades, fades in/out. You won't regret it :D
