E61 emailing via built in email client. – Problems

I am heaving a problem with email downloading to my Nokia E61. I got the phone from 3 about a month ago. I configured the POP3 built in email client (not the one that I can download from planet 3) - but the one that is in the phone software.

Receiving and sending emails from my yahoo account worked really well on the phone. Almost like Blackberry

Unfortunately, since about a week ago I cannot receive or send emails anymore. The service just won’t allow me to connect to yahoo account using POP3 email client.

I can do it when using WLAN at home, but when I want to connect via 3 ACCESS POINT- it just does not connect. Therefore I assume that something has been blocked in terms of service (what could it be?).

I tried to explain it to Customer Service – but the consultant just could not understand what is the built in email client in Nokia E61 and kept referring to email via Planet3 or Downloadable mail application.

I have read some older Threads about similar problems.

Any suggestions?

Which internet addon do you have? Some people have mentioned that the new changes to internet max have stopped email and rss working, since they introduced the forced click through page. Both xseries silver and mobile broadband are working fine with my e61 for email with the default application.

Thanks, I think you’re right. I have the “Add Internet Max”. I was convinced, and reassured by the sales person, that it will allow me to use the E61 email client. – After all this was the main reason to get this phone and this add on. I don’t really need to look at websites on the mobile – I need email.

So which add on would you recommend?

Just add X series silver, tell them you have an E65 or N73!

Exactly as acoolwelshbloke said, get x-series silver £5 and lie about which phone your using, or say youll be swapping your sim between your e61 and either the n73 or e65.
