Hi, I have just read somewhere that if I was to buy and install another SatNav software such as TomTom or Rout66, I would have to buy an external bluetooth GPS reciver as these software products will not use the Nokia internal GPS system, is that correct?

I want to start using the SatNav on the phone but have read some articles and threads stating that the Nokia GPS is not that good. Also I have paid a lot of money for the phone and think it a bit much to now have to start forking out for subscriptions just to activate the voice. On the other hand if I have to buy new software such as the TomTom then buy a GPS reciever, I might as well buy a proper TomTom....

Could anyone comment on this and suggest what I should do, i.e. stick with the Nokia or use other software. maybe nokia have in mind a software upgrade to improve their GPS.

Has anyone had problems with the Nolia GPS or changed to other sofware, if so what did you have to do. Thanks for your comments.

I run Route 66 on my N95, works fine with the internal GPS, although this does KILL the battery, so if I'm in my own car, i will tend to use my external GPS. but it does work great.

What is Rout66 like, I have only ever seen TomTom. Does the rout66 give you voice commands without having to sign up for a licence?

Out of the following, which do poeple think is the best and do they all work with the Nokia's internal GPS or do you have to get a separate GPS reciever for any of them?

Nokia's internal GPS
Tom Tom
Rout66
CoPilot

TomTom won't work with the internal.
