View Full Version : Changing to a lower price plan
When i first signed up to my two 18 months flext 35 web&walk i checked the small print to make sure i could downgrade after 6 months and i was also told by the staff at the Tmobile shop when i signed that i could. Now when i try to change my plan online it states only after 11 months!!This is a important factor to take into account over the 18 months. it means if i wanted to downgrade to the £20 plan i will now have to pay £175 extra for the 2 phones for those extra 5 months. Surely this 11 months is for customers you signed contracts after they changed it from 6 months to 11?

The change to 11months before you can change to a cheaper price plan affects everyone unfortunately, even if at the point which you took out the contract it was 6 months. The point at which you can move to a cheaper price plan isn't covered in your contract, the contract only states you'll be on the price plan you took out originally for 18months. Hence T-Mobile say you can only move price plans as a good will gesture on their part, and are therefore subject to any change in policy which they might have.

I phoned CS at the beginning of the month and stated that on page 2 of my bill (the Q&A's) it still states I can change price plan. She said that the q & a's were still being updated. However because I signed up before the change was brought in (may 1st) I could lower my tarrif. Unfortunately her computer couldn't change my price plan however her supervisor changed it. I've lowered from the Flext35+WnW (12) to the Flext25+WnW (12) tarrif.
updated...... I Phoned CS to change tarrif, at first they were not going to change it till i mentioned on page 2 of my latest bill (the Q&A's) it still states I can after 6 months, because i had it down in words they have changed my tariffs! so thanks to rasper for pointing it out !

After 3 phone calls I have now got a contract package that should about half what I was paying (gone from Flext 35 with web and walk Plus to flext 20 with web and walk).
They never even mentioned the 11 month rule which I was quoted when I enquired before, I just hope it all takes affect on my next bill date.
Thanks for this thread, I figured I would have to wait out the 11 months
