I am considering getting the data pack on my monthly contract.
7.50 for 120 meg a month is really mean in my opinion but i don't seem to have much choice, cos vodafone is the only network that gets a signal where i work so i had go with them.
i also see that they don't roll over any unused data, thus making me nervous about going over the limit and paying through the nose for extra usage.

so i have a few questions that hopefully someone will know answers to.

firstly, are vodafone likely to introduce more generous data tariffs in the near future? and if they do will i be able to switch to them? or if they simple increase the limit up from 120 meg, will i automatically get the extra data, or just new customers?

are they likely to introduce rolling over unused data to the next month, because this would probably make the difference between me using them or not.

finally is it possible to track my current data usage so that i can get close to my limit without risking going over it? i am a new vodafone customer and my online billing only just started working, but today i see that it only seems to show what i got up to in september, it shows nothing about what i've done in october.

seems to me vodafone have pitched the 120 meg limit to be just on the border of what a light to medium user could use in a month, and so they can pick up a few profitable extra data charges :( don;t like sneaky stuff like that.

There are no plans at the moment to make any changes to the data bundle or release a higher one.

A lot of modern phones have a data counter of some sort built into them, if not you can call 44555 free of charge to be sent a text with your unbilled usage (usually a 72hr delay on calls etc).

Hi there

I do have a data counter on my phone and I've just taken out the 120 MB allowance on Voda Pay Monthly.

When checking my data usage in the counter, should I only be concerned with the data received or the data sent, or both?

i haven't taken out the data pack, but in the interest of extra clarity, can i ask when does the month start for billing purposes? is it from the date you took out the contract? or is it on calendar months?
