Hi,
Sorry about all my stupid posts, I think all the info that I need is already on here but its all in different places and I'm getting confused.
Im currently on 3's wireless data max package that gives 1GB of data for £5 a month to browse the web. Apparently this does not include email and other things like SSH. Infact, when I try to access them from my phone it just times out and nothing happens.
I am told by the tech guy from 3 CS that ports 110, 143, 22, (pretty much everything apart from 80), are blocked.
I could really do with getting access to my SSH server on port 22, my company email on port 110 (I dont want to use MobileMail, 3Mail or any other clients apart from the one built into my phone).
It would also be nice if I could browse sites that weren't on port 80, such as http://mysite.com:8010/ etc.
Does anyone know if the x-series will let me do this? I cant seem to find where to sign up for it either, do you have to do it over the phone to CS? Can you only use this to access 3's "best of the web" partners (ebay, yahoo, sling, orb, skype, etc etc) or can you use it to access anything? I would consider my SSH server, my own pop3 and imap server and my configuration panel on port 10000 to be the "best of the web" but i'm sure three wouldnt!
LoST already said that I should be using x-series to do SSH but i misunderstood (I thought x-series sounded like a handset, like n-series etc)
Thanks to anyone that can conclusively help me with these.
Someone from CS today told me that three had made changes to what and what wasnt allowed on Wireless Data Max and that it was mainly bad changes not good changes. If you have the x-series, and if you can, can you check that things like SSH and corporate email still work as of today?
Thanks again
Tim
