I have a Motorola Z8 on Vodafone. I've had the phone for 2 and a half months now and I feel it's been wrongly sold to me. For a "multimedia monster" it seems to fall over at even the simplest of music and video playback tasks. It has plenty of other features that are not really as required - reminders that ring out when the phone is on silent, random crashes, poor battery life etc. etc.

I'm very happy with vodafone, but not the phone. I'm on an 18 month contract which I'd quite happily stay on if they'd swap with a phone that actually works.

It was betweent he Z8 and the N95 at the time and the vodafone staff recommended the Z8.

Will the Vodafone retail shop I got it from entertain my request at all or am I stuck?

Is there any way my insurance could be used too ;) ?

you normally have 2 days to try out phone if not happy you can take it back in this period only, considering you have had phone for 2 and a half months is way too long, your best bet is to sell it on ebay and go and buy N95 sim free normally costs between £250 and £300 from independant phone shops, hope this helps

insurane will only cover repairs to the phone

As expected they weren't interested. I'm going to send it away for repair for the two hardware faults i have - dodgy battery and battery cover that doesn't fit. If the software problems are fixed then the phone really could be good, but to me it seems the failings at the moment are nothing short of false advertising.

The cooling off period for any Vodafone product brought directly from Vodafone is 14 days. During this period you can return or exchange the handset for any reason as long as it's returned in it's original condition.

The Z8 was discontinued by Vodafone due to the problems with it.

If you use the Online Contact Form (https://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_Help_ContactUs&pageID=PCU_0002) to send Vodafone an email including FIT135 anywhere in the body of the text, along with a link to this thread, either myself or a colleague will be able to help you with this.

I've sent a message to that just now Faza20. Hopefully you can help me as I'd really like to stay with Vodafone but with a piece of hardware that actually lets me enjoy my time with the network.

Huge thanks to Faza20 for sorting this for me. Much happier vodafone customer now with the N95.
