am on a £35 a month tariff with 14 months left,just lost my job and really cant afford £35 amonth,any one had this problem? will they let me down grade or go on pay as you go,before i get in arrears and get cut off and have debt collectors after me

you gota pay out the contract, or be with them 9 months to lower you tariff, if you choose to go 2 pay as you go its classed as disconnecting, so you still have to pay out your contract.

Your chances are slim. Have you got any other payments you will not be able to afford? If so it may be worth talking to Citizens Advice or a debt counsellor who will be able to write on your behalf.
The other option is to transfer the account to someone else

Is it a O2 direct contract or a CPW one ? If its a CPW contract and you have the lifeline complete insurance then that will pay the remaining contract for you. You do have to return the phone,box ect.
