In France, you can legally cancel your unexpired contract if you move overseas. Is this available in the UK? My son has 6 months to run of an 18 months contract, and is now studying in a French university; 3 will only reduce £ 5 a month (current £35).

This isn't France, and no you can't.

I'm afraid not. Rules and regulations are different here. Some for the good - some for the bad.
