So has anyone read Mr Stephen Frys blog on Smartphones?
It's very interesting indeed. I didn't know he was so into technology and in particular Smartphones.
Funny thing is that he describes the Nokia N Series as "multimedia toys for adolescents". Made me feel quite young.
You can read about it here. http://www.stephenfry.com/blog/?p=3

He's been blogging since before it was given that ridiculous name, over ten years now. In my previous life as a film and TV stills photographer I can recall talking to him about his online life way back then.
It's a great read, all the same.
(BTW are you Davey W, who writes for PC World, by any chance?)

No I'm not that Davey. I didn't even know he existed, some friends gave me the name many years ago and I feel like I've either stolen his identity or he's nicked mine.

the N series comment made me giggle as that's exactly what they as classified as, Nokias multimedia handsets.

That Stephen Fry called the N95 'beautiful' and 'very powerful' gives me more confidence in the little wonder - his knowledge of the various foibles of various phones, amongst other technologies, means that if he says that something works, then it's safe to say that it does. I've been using the Nokia keyboard with Quickoffice for a few days, and I've fallen for the N95 all over again! (Though an E90 would be nice to try for comparison).
Fry gave the public a look at his tech buying habits in his amazing documentary on manic depression where a psychiatrist was discussing impulse buying (I think) as being a result of it. Fry had promised himself a Mac Mini, and she was asking why he needed it when he already had several Macs. I thought that I would be rubbish at that kind of assistance: 'You don't want a Mac Mini.'
'I do.'
'No, you don't.'
'Why?'
'The 24 inch iMac's due out.'
Lord knows how many iPods the man has, I don't think even he knows.
