3's Msn Messenger - Nokia N73

Hi,
I have yesterday got myself a 18 month contract with 3 and had the nokia n73 for free on the talker 20 pound a month deal. When i got the phone I charged the phone fully then flashed it with the latest nokia unbranded firmware, now i noticed i had a few things free like msn messenger which do not come with this firmware pre-installed.

Now i have obtained 3's msn messenger through the internet and transfered it to my phone and installed but when i go to sign in, i choose access point "3 wap" and then wait a minute and recieve the following error "cannot connect to service, this may be due to incorrect settings roaming restrictions."

Now the most obvious answer would be is your N73 is not 3 branded, but i read many people doing it the way i want to.
Also it may be because i have not set the internet to pay per mb used (no add on enabled)
Also it may be because i haven't rang 3 up to register any details to do with my account but i can amke and recieve calls/texts fine so cant be arsed.
Also it may be because i am using the wrong access point - "3 wap"

But one thing i never tested was msn messenger before i flashed the phone to see if it would work so i dont know if it did or didn't

I do not know the solution thats why i wondered if anyone has had the same problem and knows a solution

never mind i had the phone replaced but left it as factory firmware and everything is fine!

Did you just say you downloaded 3's messenger from the internet? Where from? Can you send me the file.

I have the same problem, and what I found so far is:

1- Unbranded firmware doesn't come with MSN.
2- You can't download 3's MSN via you mobile because the unbranded firmware doesn't have some certificates neede to install the software.
3- You can download other MSNs from the web and install then, but they will only work if you have an internet ad-on (ie it's not free as the 3's one).

Please, if you found the 3 MSN software on the net let me know where it is, or send me an email.

ive been checking various threads about msn mobile messenger due to a friends n series not allowing the use of msn (with 3). unfortunately i just couldnt get it to work BUT i did manage to get on messenger with it. try this way - doesnt need the msn program on the mobile (this also worked on moto e398 / rokr samsung z500)
1. go to www.mobile.msn.com (with ur mobile)
2. select the messenger from the list on your screen
3. enter your login details
4. hey presto - youre on - now create a favourites link to the page after youve logged in !! (using menu - add favourite)

repeat again to use your hotmail but log in to hotmail instead of messenger.
