Just wanted to see if you guys thought I got a good deal here or not!

I didn't want to pay over £30 a month on a contract but I wanted web and walk plus I wanted an N95!

I've been trying to work out the best way to do this. In the end I went for flext 30 (currently £5 off a month) plus web and walk so I end up paying £32.50 a month which I can just about handle.

I got the N95 for £50 but i managed to get them to chuck in a 2gb Sandisc card for free as I would need that.

The only thing I wasnt pleased with was they had to do it with insurance which is £8.99 but I'm pretty sure I can cancel this (does anyone know how long you have to wait before cancelling it?)

So did I get a good deal? The n95 is supposed to be £100 normally, so I like to think I did.

Also, do I get a 14day 'cooling off' period incase you all say this is a rubbish deal!!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

Well, the 2 gb cards are not that expensive now, and the phone is about £40 on that tariff anyway, so I wouldn't say that you had made out like a bandit, but I wouldn't say it was unfair either.
My main reason for replying however, is on the insurance. If you aren't interested in insurance at all, then cancelling it is entirely your decision, but if you are thinking that it's already covered, you need to check it first. Some insurance companies will refuse to deal with N95s on the grounds that, since they run Symbian, they are classed as a business device, and therefore do not qualify for home insurance.

Cheers for that fella,

Nah I didnt want the insurance but they were insistent that they could only do me this deal if I took it. I'm not so bothered as long as I can cancel it.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I didn't get a bad deal, although there's always the chance it'll change when they announce October deals!

Thanks again

Where did you go? Last time I checked, a web'n'walk contract at £42.50 (without any money off) would mean the N95 would be around £40.
When I got mine, I got the phone for nowt on the proviso that I at least accepted the insurance at the time of the deal. (Been meaning to go in - got a good excuse now - want to make sure that the insurance is actually up and running - I know the money's been going out, but have heard some horror stories about activating the insurance from various places - though nothing connected with T-Mobile so far I hasten to add.)
Was not aware that the deal depended on insurance, I would expect a bit more than a memory card if I had to pay for the phone as well. As for cancelling it, I'm not sure. I do remember being given 3 months free on this occasion (kept going as the thought of switching to a cheap PAYG phone if anything happened to it was unappealing), and one previous occasion. I went to cancel it, before the 3rd freebie month was up, only to be told that they had taken a payment. 'Do you want us to get it back?'
Ooh, go on then.

I work in manchester so I went to the arndale shop, there are 2 or three stores in manchester but I've found it totally depends on who you get in each store. Some assistants just refuse to budge on any deal and some are willing to hear you out, I suspect the staff who have been there longer know how much they can get away with discounting.

I've heard horror stories about insurance before so I don't really want to be paying extra cash for something that probably would be deemed woid if I came to make a claim. I'm quite careful with my phone anyway so (touchwood) shouldnt have any problems.
