Hi guys, I have a strange problem with my contacts – when I get messages from my contacts it only displays the name for about half of them, despite them being saved in the contacts list. Ive done a soft reset but this hasn’t fixed it. Any ideas please?

Many thanks.

Make sure non of the contact numbers are duplicated...?

Also make sure none of the names are duplicated (first and/or surname).

Thanks for those but they still dont work, i did a hard reset and entered just one number (one that didnt display the name originally) and upon recieving a message the same happened. I also saved the number from te text recieved so it is exactly as i recieved it (with the +44 instead of 0)

Is the number also stored in your SIM memory as well as the phone memory...?

CONTACTS>OPTIONS>SIM CONTACTS>SIM DIRECTORY

The only time I have seen the N95 confused with an incoming number is when the entry has been duplicated...

I had similar thing with my n95 . Someone adviced me to put the name and the surname together under the ''last name'' space of the contact
hope it will help, coz it worked for me
