I recently got a new Nokia N95 and had to get it replaced as when i used it i could hear a hi fequency buzzing in my ear which caused my ear to hurt and made me feel sick!!! I took it back to o2 and they changed the phone but the second one does the same!!! - i'm sure the man in the shop thought i was a crank when i told him what was happening as he said he couldn't hear a thing!!!! From reading some of the replies on this forum it seems like others have had similar problems. I'm loathed to try the pin trick in case it invalidates the waranty and may try to get the phone changed again or swop it for a different phone. Has any one else experienced the same symptoms and what was your outcome.
Thanks:confused:

I'm a bit weird, i can hear the buzzing in my left ear, but not in my right. So i just listen to all my calls with my right ear.

Sorry, this doesn't help you very much!

From posts on the forum members have returned their phones several times before they got a phone that did not have the whine sound.

Normally if your contract / upgrade is under 28 days old they should replace the phone with a new one and not a refurbished one.

I can hear it really loud in both ears - looks like i'll be making a trip back to O2. You would have thought that Nokia would have made some attempt to sort this seeing the phone was launched at the beginning of the year!
Keep posting your views as the more evidence i can gather the better

most associate the problem with the screen, when it lights up it can make a high-piched noise, it does continue to be a problem unforunately, the only 'home-made solution' has been to use the pin trick like you mentioned, but as you said i wouldnt recommend it because it may invalidate your warranty, if you are still in side your warranty you're well within your rights to get it back to your service provider

I got the same issue in 1 ear only? whats the pin trick m8 ?

cheers mark

I found details on another site about putting a pin through the mesh on the ear piece into the two holes and somehow it is meant to realign the ?magnets, You would have to look it up on the net - i'm not going to be trying it out, if the phone is faulty then i want a new one.

The pin trick worked for me.

If your getting a fuzzing / buzzing noise when someone on the other end of the line is speaking, gently thread a needle through the mesh in the ear piece (a needle thin enough to go through the mesh helps) and gently push it into one of the two holes behind the mesh.

I actualy heard the magnet of the ear piece click into place.

After that the sound from the ear piece is clear as a whistle.

**** I tried this only because my phone is out of warranty, so had nothing to lose ****

Do not attempt this if you are heavy handed as too much pressure on the ear piece could and will do damage.

If you feel if this operation is too tricky and your phone is under warranty I would always advise you take your phone back to a Nokia Service Centre.

All the best
