Okay, seems to be the day for strange things.
For the last few days I've been getting missed calls on my N95, but the phone doesn't ring, it just pops up with a missed call notice on the standby screen.
When I go into the log to check the number, it just says (no number).
Think I've had about 10 at least now.
I'm on o2 with the lastest firmware.

I get that as well. I think it happens when you have no reception when the call is made. It's quite annoying/confusing...

Funny thing is that I haven't missed any calls from anyone, as they would normally call again, and haven't been left with any voicemail notifications.
Obviously must be an o2 issue.
I've been with o2 on and off for nearly 6 years and never experienced it before.
But I have had it when I've had both full strength gsm and 3g signals.
But bear in mind my area hasn't got complete 3g coverage so I'm constantly switching between gsm and 3g.

It's a long shot but could the call be coming in while your phone is switching (meaning the Home Location Register server doesn't know whether to route it over 2G or 3G or to send to voicemail because your phone is going through the network logon/authentication process.)
Might be worth restricting your phone to 2G (not sure how you do this) and seeing whether the problem clears up.

Just done it again about 10 mins ago. Was texting someone, had 4 bars of 3g signal and it said missed called. Looked it up, and got (no number) again.
Think I might ring o2 and see what they say.
Probably give me some useless reason, or don't even know what it is causing it lol.
[Update]
Okay, phoned o2.... And they simply said factory reset the phone, or this, possibly the stupidest response I've ever heard.... Go to your Profiles and make sure your ring volume is at maximum.
Oh well, will just have to let it resolve itself I think lol.

Yep that's the dumbest 'fix' I ever heard
Still might be worth trying to restrict to 2G for a week and see how it goes.

Mine had been set on 3G only for the past few weeks, and I've stilll been getting the problem (it is very occasional though). I'm with Orange.
I don't think it's a problem with a particular network, it's just something that happens with when you get weak signal...

That would make sense as data and signalling can get by with a weak signal I think.
Could be that the signal strength meter is giving an incorrect reading perhaps and the signal is weaker than indicated or is at the top of the scale of the values set for a 3 bar signal and so the software is rounding the raw value up to give 4 bars (I'm not familiar with the algorithms any of the manufacturers use to calculate signal strength so this is a wild guess)
Might be worth discussing with Nokia as it could be a bug they haven't squashed yet.
