US : Envivio announced that its 4Caster M2 mobile TV encoder won Cable and Satellite International’s Product of the Year Awards 2007 in the category of “Best Mobile TV Technology or Service”. Having previously won the 2007 Frost and Sullivan Product Innovation award, this is the second win in 2007 for the 4Caster M2. The Envivio® 4Caster M2 encoders are ideal for mobile operators wanting to enrich their offerings beyond voice to provide live 3G-based mobile video or DVB-H based Broadcast video services and for broadcasters wanting to repurpose content to address the multitude of broadcast video devices that are planned for release.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by CSI and its panel of judges for this prestigious award. As the uncontested leader in mobile video live television deployments, we offer our customers a way to address interoperability across the various networks, bandwidths, and protocols so they can deliver the highest quality mobile TV experience to consumers. The CSI award further validates our strategy and product capabilities,” said Julien Signès, President and CEO of Envivio Inc.
The Envivio 4Caster M2 can deliver video to any network, including 2.5G, 3G, and 3.5G networks, mobile broadcast networks such as DVB-H, as well as next generation networks such as WiMAX. The system can output and manage up to eight device profiles simultaneously from a single input. The 4Caster M2 offers extensive device support and is compatible with the most popular network standards including 3GPP, 3GPP2 and DVB-H. Now in its third generation, the live encoder supports the MPEG-4 / H.264 and H.263 formats, as well as Windows Media Video (VC-1), and includes multiprofile support, IP statistical multiplexing, live bit rate switching, IP input and CAS integration capabilities.
