I am with O2 pay and go and I was on Textanytime and changed it to Offpeak and I also topped up my phone during this my first month. The day before my anniversary date I received a text saying "We hope you liked your 30 day allowance from O2".
Later on I checked my allowance balance on 20202 but there was no mention of it, only my Home 250 bolt on was displayed, I sent a text and was charged, I made a call off peak and was charged. My allowance was reinstated with Offpeak after 12.30am on my anniversary date and was displayed on the balance once more.
What I would like to know is this losing a day of allowance before my anniversary date is a regular thing as I assumed that if I topped up in plenty of time my allowance would carry on from one period to another or does this break only happen when the allowance is changed?

Yes it does appear to be a regular occurrence as I have talk anytime and have noticed that I get charged for calls (even though I know I still have some allowance left), this seems a little crafty to me (there could be a good technical reason why their billing system software withdraws the alowance 24 hours before) but to be honest I havent had the time to follow it up with O2 CS but now you mention it I would like to know why too.
Can any O2 CS agents enlighten us please (if I dont get a response here in a couple of days I'll mail CS directly and will post a response here)

It appears the O2 force is weak here let us try rephrasing the title.

This SMS probably refers to your free welcome pack that you receive during your first month, not the online allowance that you get for topping up and which rests each anniversary date.

What is this 20202 of which you speak? Is it a number that one dials or an SMS trigger? How does it work?
