I assume people have seen this....

Doesn't seem to have been widely publicised.

Not many people know about it as it is supposed to be commercially sensitive information. But has been on the cards for many months now and ties in with other thing happening in the business. But nothing has been signed, it's only a possibility

I have deleted several posts in order to allow this thread to keep it on the original subject.

Andyroo this forum is here to help each other and pass on information not to have a go at other members.

LOL how many times do this rumours come around. If and that is a very very big if T mobile bought 3, they could not use its network infrastructure as this would breach the 3g licence agreements. Anyone suggesting otherwise should visit OFCOM's website which clearly confirms this.
The only network sharing is 3's use of Orange's 2g network and this once again was part of the original licence terms won by HWG in 2000.

Snowdrop Indeed!! Can't wait to get away from T-Mobile!!!

In regards to the last post T-Mobile are not buying 3, they are merely sharing the network to save money, sharing base stations and RNCs, but the core network will be independant as will the revenue stream. Something similar to what Vodafone and Orange proposed on their RAN (3G) networks.

Er I beg to differ. They are PROPOSING to do this as OFCOM do not currently allow this. It is the same as the statement of Vodafone and Orange sharing. It is not yet a reality and IMHO just the networks flexing their muscles to get the regulations changed. I believe the same goes for the900MHZ 3G spectrum.
Unfortnuately all these articles either overlook this or put it in as a comment right near the end when most have decided to stop reading.

its the same deal as Orange and Vodafone guys.

RAN sharing. they will just run a single site on both operators frequencies, so it fulfills licence agreements

It saves on kit, rent, maintenence staff.

I heard about this a while ago, but nothing is signed yet apparently

Well OFCOM have made more announcements today but again this is still a lot of maybe's etc. Why they peddle this information is beyond be. Why note announce things when it is allowed, not when it MIGHT BE.
