as pa49 said, there are no virus that will infect a n95 so running any anti virus software is just a waste of ram and battery

Personally I don't use any, but I guess if your surfing the net etc. it might not be a bad idea.
I think AVS is availible from http://www.nseries.com/index.html#l=support,n95,device_software,f-secure_anti-virus and http://www.f-secure.com/home_user/mobile_security.html

Seriously, it's a waste of time and memory installing an anti-virus for the N95 or any Symbian S60v3 devcie for that matter.

Indeed, as my nan grows some lovely ones. Y'know spring onions? Tiny little buggers? Hers are 4 times the size. Cracking in a salad.
That's what we were talking about wasn't it?

Because there aren't any known symbian virii in the wild!

Would it not be a better idea to have an anti virus on your phone and have it stop even one virus sometime in the future. Just because your phone hasn't been attacked it doesn't mean that people aren't developing or developed viruses already that attack Symbian S60 devices. You wouldn't know if you had one unless you had a notification from some sort of anti virus software.

Seriously man, there's no point in having one. The reason there is no S60v3 viruses is due to the certification process necessary for your phone to install anything. They can't create a file for mass distribution without Symbian actually signing it off themselves, which obviously they won't if they test it and it turns out to be a virus. So theoretically, it's impossible for a virus to be made at this point until they find a way to mass certify an app themselves.

You don't need antivirus... If you don't install cracked software, accept & install unknown bluetooth/IR files etc. Then you won't get viruses.
It's the way the OS is built to have security in mind. Viruses can't get on your system by just browsing the internet like M$ windows. It will require you the user to physically accept/acknowledge installations.
This also applies to OSX and Linux. It's just windows you have to take extra precautions.

As s60v3 had been out now over a year and not one virus is out there for it, IF there was ever any discovered for it you can guarantee that the news of it would spread to forums and blogs faster than any virus ever has spread. So until you hear about an s60v3 virus here or other symbian sites your perfectly safe.

I wasn't urging anyone to get AVS for there handset, I was just informing them of what I know is availible. Like I said I don't use any myself.
Many sources would contradict you however;

Now I'm not saying everyone on here who has said "you don't need AVS" is wrong, I'm just relaying what I've read.

Those virus are real and are out there, but those reports are all at least 2 years old and are talking about symbian s60v2 operating system. For the last year this has been updated to s60v3 which is completely different. No program written for the v2 will work on v3 and that goes for virus too. s60v3 has been out more than 12 months now (I thing the N80 was one of the first phones to use it) and in that time there has not been one report of an infected phone. There was a report on 2 s60v3 virus being found, they were foud by symantec who just so happen to sell anti virus software for s60v3 phones. Supprising though that other than them, there are no other reports of an s60v3 virus being found. No blogs forums or Symbian news sites have ever seen them or know of anyone infected by them.

As the guy above says, these have no relevance at all to the N95 as all of these links refer to viruses for previous versions of Symbian. Not one of these can possibly infect an N95 or any S60v3 device. The only known viruses for S60v3 have been created by anti-virus companies as 'proof of concept'.
So back to my original point; Don't waste your time and money on anti virus.
