My wife is currently with 3 and I am looking to upgrade her phone to a Nokia N95.
Now I realise that the N95 is a network hungry beasty (I have one on T-Mobile Web 'n Walk) and I want the wife to get basically the same things that I do which is free GPRS.
Looking at 3's website (and the X Series mini site in particular) it doesn't really explain the difference between the X Series packages - except for the Skype, Orb, Slingbox etc (which I am not bothered about).
All I want is a N95 with unlimited internet access, email access and GPRS access to download MAPS, use the A-GPS etc without running up a huge data bill...
Can someone explain if the X Series "Unlimited Internet" package will do or if I need Silver or even Gold to get what I want...
Many thanks in advance ;)

Hi Tony. Have a read through the following links, that should set you straight.

Thanks Bavlondon the engadget review was quite an interesting read... But I am still left confused about what the various packages ACTUALLY do?
*IF* I have it correct then there is...
"Unlimited Internet" which is FREE??
"Silver" Which add's Skype
"Gold" which add's Orb and Slingbox?
But I guess my main question is "what do 3 mean by Web Surfing (Yahoo! Search)" in the blurb for the Unlimted Internet package? Is this really unrestricted GPRS access?
Will my wife run up a huge bill using GPRS services on the N95 with only the Unlimted Internet option? By GPRS services I mean downloading MAPS on the fly or using A-GPS or anything else that might require a download because it isn't strictly "Web Surfing (Yahoo! Search)"

Unlimited Internet, sometimes also known as 'X-Series' (i.e. without the Silver or Gold suffix) is X-Series Silver without Skype or Mobile Mail. It is £5 per month -- the same price as X-Series Silver. Both include unlimited internet access (on the handset) -- fair use limit of 1Gb per month. It is unrestricted data access insofar as you can use whichever mobile applications you want on your handset, and the data use is included in the £5 add-on.

For £5 p/m (on Silver) you can pretty much do anything that you want on your mobile. Web surfing, video streaming, audio streaming, downloading Nokia Maps on the fly (oh and satellite/aerial maps using other applications!)

Tony everything is included not just using the web browser. i dont use the nokia map program but i do download maps with google map and another java map app but i forget its name, i also use nokia podcasting to download podcasts to my phone and varios other applicaions that use data and its all included iv never been charged extra. Your better off with xseries silver rather than the unlimited internet addon as you get more for the same price.

I'm intrigued! I'm tied in to Gold (and can't live without Sling!) for another 8 or so months - but I'm still curious nonetheless. ;o)

I think the fact that the contract is up this weekend might just tip the balance on that one :)
Everyone else in our house is on T-Mobile and I'm just looking for an excuse to switch the wife over... So I had better get me own way!
