I'm going to Ibiza soon, and I certainly don't want to get hit with huge data roaming charges, so is there any way to totally disable the data connections whilst away ? I know Ibiza is listed as no data, but I don't want to take a chance :)

I know swapping to GPRS requires debranding, but I don't want that, I just want to turn data off totally, but I'll be damned if I can find an option in any menu :o

I have searched, but posts seem to be about turning off 3g for GPRS access, not to stop data access for roaming.

Cheers :)

I'm sure that there is a technical way to do it, but I recently stopped data on a phone for a friend whilst roaming by going into the settings and putting an extra dot in the access point address

Cheers for the reply, I never thought of that, and anything that ensures I don't get a roaming bill will suit me :)
