Still having problems?

I've rebranded my 3UK N73 several times to a generic euro1 N73 ME phone and all I've had to do was add planet3 web address into the SERVICE browser, so I'm not to sure what problems you can have with a O2 phone which is virtually a generic phone?

Have you called 3 and asked their advice? They are very helpful and if you say you've broken your last phone and got a new one they will help you out.

You're going to have to be much more specific. I've done exactly what you are asking, with absolutely no problems. The settings aren't hard to get, in fact someone has posted them for you on one of the other threads you've started. There are plenty of instructions on how to use the sat nav. In fact, there's one if you just scroll down the thread list a bit. Alternatively, as I said to you before, the search function will show you lots of threads asking exactly the same qestion you ask.

I'm going to reiterate something I posted in one of your other threads now damon. You have all the settings you need. If you have the 3 internet settings and the 3 MMS settings, you're good to go.

so why when i have my 3 sim in and both settings u told me about all working, does my sat nav not work? on the o2 sim i can search for an address via post code and it will find it, but on the 3 sim it says it cannot find anything??!! i have sorted planet 3, i have got that working. it is just the sat nav and also the radio stations that i cannot get to work. sat nav cannot find anything and the radio cannot find any stations

Well the built in radio has nothing to do with your network.

Have you set network access to 3 on nokia Maps?

CALM DOWN DEAR!

If you are really desperate and not faint of heart, you could try changing the product code of the handset to that of a 3 network handset and then update the firmware using Nokia Software Updater. If all goes well you should have 3 branded firmware on your phone. Can anyone confirm this? I believe VOIP will be crippled though. Oh 3 product code: 0546553 (courtesy of Allaboutsymbian.com product codes thread)

Here's a video that goes through it that I found on a quick search, relating to the firmware upgrade process. The irony here is that if you are desperate, well the dude who created this video sounds like he needs to get to bed (or he's trying not to wake the Mrs) and takes an age to do the update :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN9eRlddfH0

[EDIT] Forgot to mention, as Munkimatt says, it can't be anything to do with the network/sin change affecting the radio and even the GPS unless you have discovered a bug. Regarding the GPS error could you be more specific. What happens when you type a postcode in does a message appear saying something, or does it tell you it hasn't got a GPS lock or something?

I've had difficulties with the 3 network in the past but they are solved by getting the right settings and their customer services will help!
Don't know about this but does postcode search need internet access enabled correctly?

i do think i have the right settings for internet access as i am able to get onto planet 3. i have set the sat nav to use 3 internet but when trying to search using postcode it comes up with no results found! on my o2 sim it finds these details straight away. ive had internet settings and mms settings sent from nokia, however there is no wap/gprs settings for three on here, so im thinking it might be because of that. any thoughts?

Hi! Have you got an internet package with 3? X-series or some other bolt-on? With O2 you can access the internet effectively PAYG, but I think you'll only have access to Planet 3 and nohing else with 3 unless you pay additionally.

no i do not have an add on package, could this be the problem?
although i thought the sat nav uses wap anyway?

Someone else will confirm for definite, (I've not been with 3 for a while) but I seem to remember that you couldn't access the Internet/WAP outside Planet 3 without an add-on..... anyone?

That's the problem I was meaning! They only allow access through their own portal and not the full web unless you take an unrestricted data package. Like I said call 3 customer services!

If you download and install the maps using Map Loader you'll never need to use the network for the GPS again. Downloading the map data via GPRS/3G can cost a fortune!

Tim

That'll be it, you can't go outside of the walled garden. You need X-Series on your account.

And for the last frigging time... you don't need the wap/gprs settings.
