I lost my Samsung mobile last month, so phoned the o2 insurance company and they sent me a replacement handset with a £25 charge.

But now my friend found my old phone at her house, so now i have both.

Am i meant to give the old one or the new one back to o2 insurance??

Do i get my £25 charge back?

I havent called them yet.

Thanx

Your old phone should have been barred as you reported it lost and can not be used for making / receiving calls, so it is effectively a paper weight.

As the phone has been replaced by your insurance company, the phone belongs to them.

The honest thing to do would be to contact the insurance company, and see what they say.

They might ask you to return the original phone to them, but I don't know what they would say as I have never been in this situation.

I am guessing at this, but if they asked you to return the phone. Then they could lift the bar as they would be the only ones that could lift it. Once the bar is lifted they could then sell it to recover some of the money for the new phone they sent you.

Pav's absolutely spot on, the phone belongs to the insurance company so you need to contact them and they MAY say you can keep it, but will most likely want it returned.

If you keep it (it'll be IMEI barred on all networks anyway, so: useless) you're committing insurance fraud.

You might be able to send the replacement back and have your insurance excess refunded.

Give them a call....

unfortunately I don't think you'll get the £25 back, they'll most likely say admin charges etc. Ask if they can get it unblocked and sell it on if possible.
