HI all, this is driving me nuts so I hope someone out there can help me out.
I have purchased a Sony Vaio UX380 with an internal Sony Ericsson VDC EGPRS module, this is ofcourse an EDGE compatable modem that was put in the computer with US customers in mind.
I have unlocked the module so that it is able to handle any SIM and seeing as Orange is the only UK mobile network to provide an EDGE network I have a data SIM from them.
All goes well the software (AT&T Coms Manager) detects that it is a foreign SIM and alows me to enter the correct APN etc etc.
The Orange network can be seen and the software says that my "Orange" profile is ready to connect, but when connect is pressed it says it is initializing the modem but then goes straight back to "ready".
When I check diagnostics I see the Network ID, Network Name (Orange) etc etc .
This is driving me potty Sony Ericsson wont assist, Sony Vaio cannot provide any further assistance and Orange have provided me with all the relevant settings.
Is there anyone out there who can get this working for me?
Cheers
Simon
