To use some of my accounts I need java enablement. I know these accounts work when my Vario II is linked to my PC, it must be picking up the necessary files, I need the same files in my MDA.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Java on your PC is a whole different kettle of fish than Java on the phone.
The Vario 2 can run Midlets, which are like stripped down versions of Java. As you may know the full-blown Java Runtime Engine (which you can download from java.com) is HUGE, it'd never fit on the phone and the phone wouldn't be able to run it anyway.
So, unless you can get little Java midlets to access your accounts, you'll have to stick to using the phone as a modem and using your PC for access. No way around it, I'm afraid.
