The network supports 16QAM HSDPA to 3.6Mb. My W&W Pro SIM in a Vario2 seems to get close to 3Mb.

Is there some trick to getting this. I have an N95 and WnW plus and this is what my T-mobile account currently says
Web & Wap 384k Up/2048 Down
As you can see it is certainly not the new data rate and this is the information I can see on my account screen.

Mine has that set to Off, 3G (UMTS) Service = On. Maybe W&W Pro is supposed to be faster that Plus? Or you could phone CS & see if they can upgrade you?

Thats really interesting. Mine has both UTMS and the 2048 down ON. Unless the 2048 ON is acting as a restriction rather than a service?! Strange. I will try T-mobile CS but I have a hunch I won't get very far.

last i heard they are upgrading the network to 3.6 but this has no set date of going active.
I was in London the last weekend with a sim free HTC P3600 that supports 3.6mb HSDPA and the results on speedtest were...... well pretty poor to be honest
Once i managed to connect which 1/2 the time left me on a 'Locating' status bar until i pulled the battery and turned back on. 1 second i was getting 1150kbs speed then when i tried again 210kbs, then 150kbs, then 655kbs (yes i noted them down)
This was pretty unreliable i thought. Also when in london i lost count at 10 times of pulling the battery out and putting back in again to get the data connected. Left me with a very bad impression of their data network to be honest.
Im sure 3GSINGH will also back this up with his local mast been faulty for at least 2+ months.

I have the new usb modem and I can't get any faster speed to the silver pcmcia data card, perhaps the 3.6 service is notyet in my area, Rochester Kent.

Yes, you are right. There is no date for this to be released to customers yet.
