Hi all

I've had a T-Mobile N70 with web-and-walk for over a year and yesterday I bought an ex-vodafone, unlocked E61, hoping to use my T-Mobile SIM with it.

Everything is fine except for the fact that there seems to be no 3G "reception". What I mean by that is that there is no "3G" symbol in the top left corner (it's always the antenna symbol). I live and work in central London and I'm able to get 3G reception pretty much everywhere on my N70.

I've updated to the latest firmware.
I've tried changing the network mode setting from "GSM" to "UMTS" to "Dual mode" (it's currently on "Dual mode").
I've been to T-Mobile and they've downloaded their web-and-walk software on to it.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Is it likely to be a hardware problem?

Cheers.

sounds to me like you need a new sim card.

Call them and ask if 3g can be enabled on the sim,

For example, I upgraded to a 3g video phone and video calls werent enabled on it, after a quick call and 24 hours later, i was up and running with video calling.

A lot of these new services need to be provisioned on the sim card.

Thanks for the reply Andyroo.

3G services were working fine when the SIM card was in the N70, so I don't think that was the problem.

I say "was" because I was able to replace the E61 today and the new one works fine :D

Thanks again tho.

I see, you failed to mention that you were getting 3g reception on the N70, DOH, hence why I suspected you sim card
