I'm considering getting a E-TEN M700 if I can get the right contract deal somewhere. I am stuck between that and the MDA Vario II (or HTC TYTN as it is also known)
The E-Ten has got built in GPS which I like the sound of but lacks 3G
How would this affect me Web N Walk wise?
I'm mainly looking to use it for Internet Radio, Email and browsing
Thanks for any help that comes my way

Maybe someone else can tell you for sure, but I think you may need 3g to be able to stream internet radio. I think 2g would be too slow!

I would agree with that. Even 3G internet is being boosted with HSDPA technology (3.5G) and more to increase the bandwidth/speed of the internet. Streaming uses a large amount of bandwidth and even in patchy 3G areas the breakup in video and radio can be noticed!

I have moved from a Tmobile Vario to a Vario 2.
Visit http://radiofeeds.co.uk/pda.
Select anything up to 32k stream, this works fine on a vario.
On a Vario 2 you can listen to 128kbps streams, but bear in mind if youre walking down the street and switch over to the next cell it gets disrupted.
It worked fine for me, but once you start listening to stream at 128k walking down the street, youll never go back :)

You could get away with listening to a stream at 32k
http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/pda is one such site to offer this

you will only be able to use GPRS speeds, ie 20-30KBPS.
3G Speeds will take you upto 320-350Kbs
HSDPA will give you typically 1-1.2Mps.
the only 'purely 3G' service is Video telephony.
