Hi all... From last night 1st June 2007 I can't connect to MSN messenger via my web and walk pro data card connection, if I turn off the data card and connect wirelessly via my home network, it logs on fine to MSN messenger, so it's only when I try via the T-mobile connection that I get the problem.

I called a friend who uses the same T-mobile data card on his laptop, and he is now getting the same error code as me? and prior to last night MSN log ons have been fine.

Are other people having the same MSN log on problems?

I have been on the phone to T-mo for the last hour and they can't tell me what might be wrong, they did say they would call back.

I have gone through all the usual things, like dissabling firewall, emptying all the caches and internet files, installing the lastest 8.1 messenger, but still with no luck, all I get is eroor code 80072745

I talked to T-Mo data help team, he said he can still log on ok to MSN but he also said that T-Mo have some issues with the MSN connection with some users and that they are trying to sort it out.

Not sure how true he was, I posted the same thing on another forum and one reply was that T-mo was gradually cutting the use of MSN.

It is really annoying, because I have been a loyal customer to T-Mo for the last 11 years and I only use my data card at work when I work night shifts, and its only two nights out of ten that I use it, and then it's only for 3 hours max each time so I am not a high end user.

I does seem strange that they cut the MSN connection two weeks after doing an upgrade on the card, as I had had it for a year, it was quite a good deal, £8.45 a month

Yeh sounds like a t-mob update has disabled msn. I disabled my tmob updates specifically for this reason as tmob told me that msn is considered over use of bandwidth. But I pay £20 pm for unlimited use. looks like my t-mob has over-ridden my update disable and managed to change my msn
sometimes a system restore undoes this tmob update, also, re-installing the original tmob cd rom that came with the pcimia card, can enable msn again. wots the point in paying for unlimited when u cant do unlimited. i'm pee'd off.

I have not got the T-Mo software on the pc, all I done was "make new connection" in networks, none of the k fuffle waiting for the connection to get logged in, like in connection software T-Mo uses

Yep one of T Mob's tech dept recommended on the phone to me not to use communication centre as it is very buggy and can muck things up. I too use the manual connection method and i must say i get faster speeds (browsing and connecting) and everything works. I had the specified problem before but i reinstalled the datacard and it worked again.

I have the same problem with my laptop datacard so I turned on my secure proxy and msn connected without any problem (when T-mobile couldnt tell what site I was connecting to!). Looks like they have disabled msn. I had the same problem with Skype until I used the secure proxy. My friend has also reported the same with Yahoo.

just thought i'd let you know if you are trying to connect to msn and you are on the web'n'walk pro price plan at £20 per month then you won't be able to connect as you need to be on web'n'walk plus price plan this is because in the terms and coditions of the pro price plan it states that you are not allowed to do i.m on the pro but T-Mobile never inforced the rule until earlier this year as it was then becoming a serious problem with use outside the allowance on i.m on the pro so it is now blocked
and just for moyz thanks for that as i am one of those w*****s

Try using MSN version 8.0 or less, this cured my problem of not being able to connect!

if you connected after dowloading different version you must have been on the correct price plan cos know that if you are on pro price plan won't be able to connect whatever you do as t-mobile have blocked the access
