slow download

hi can anyone tell me why i only get 5.4kbs download. starts about 25 kbs and within 30 seconds drops down to 5.4 kbs. using samsung z560 amd top of range laptop on w a w plus thanks:

Are you in a 3G area or only GPRS? What time of day are you trying to download?

hi only gprs area does not matter what time of day always drops to 5.4 kbs

What sort of speed are you getting downloading just to the phone rather than using it as a modem? How are you connecting it to the laptop?

dont know how to check speed on phone but seems a lot faster. connected through usb lead and samsung pc studio

Try pointing the phones browser at one of the download sites such as www.dslreports.com/mspeed, and compare it with what you get when going through your laptop. If using the phone direct is significantly faster then it narrows the problem down to the laptop/software.

i give up cant use phone browser properly (im only a computer technician) have noticed though download is same speed no matter where i am in country

Sounds like it's a problem with the connection to the laptop rather than a problem with the signal you're recieving. Might be worth checking with Samsung / a Samsung user site whether theirs newer software available.

been on to cs actualy got transferred to tech man, he agrees speed too slow and is investigating, hopefully find problem quickly
