Dear all,

I need some advice regarding my extremely frustrating experience with Vodafone.

My Story:

I ordered a Nokia N73 as an upgrade in December 2006. To my surprise, it wouldn't start up straight from the box! Vodafone sent me another one within days. This phone eventually stopped working as well, I called up Customer Support and was advised to bring the phone at a Vodafone store to be repaired. I was informed at the store that they had no engineers on site, and would have to wait a week for it to be fixed. I WAS CLEARLY ADVISED THAT THE STORE CAN FIX THIS.. however, I bit the bullet and my phone was returned to me soon. Already very annoyed, I carried on using this phone until 3 weeks ago, when the phone packed up AGAIN. I called up again to explain my situation, and was calm throughout, but was DENIED A NEW PHONE and TOLD TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN!! I had no choice but return the phone. When I brought the phone in at the store, I thought the assistant was having a laugh when he said that there WOULD BE A £20 FEE TO BORROW A PHONE in the meantime. I tried to argue that the phone is guaranteed by warranty to no avail... and was told that he was "only following procedures" and that I "must pay to get a phone". OK.... I don't know what made me agree to this...I handed my phone over again. Guess what? The phone that was returned to me wasn't working AGAIN!!! I was furious and called up Vodafone, who were only too keen to fob me off to the store where I arranged the repairs. At the store.. to my utter disgust and horror, the assistant told me why the phone didn't work was that the REPLACEMENT PHONE WAS ON THE "BLACKLIST". I was told that it was PROBABLY A STOLEN PHONE. I demanded a new phone straight away, and guess what??? The assistant said that they "had no procedures to replace a phone" for customers in store. I called up Customer Careless and was told to go to a store and ask for a replacement. The assistant in the store agreed that it was TOTAL BULL****, but said that if he were to give me a new phone, he would be sacked!?!

Help:
I HATE VODAFONE now, and want to nail them. To my understanding, it is illegal to possess or sell stolen goods. How can I sue them? Any solicitors/barristers reading this.... your advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hi jonnyr777,

Vodafone do have a department who monitor customer feedback on public forums. If you wanted to get in touch with us we do have staff members who can escalate your complaint internally for a full investigation of what's taken place on the account / during conversations with customer services and in your Vodafone store.

If you'd like to take up this option it's possible to go to the below link, filling in the relevant security fields. Leaving the short-code FIT135 in the email body will route you through to the correct department for investigation into your complaint. If you did have any other questions please feel free to private message me (although if it involves discussing account specific information we do recommend going through the official, secure email contact field, below).
